Pre-Surgery Preparation
If you are having joint replacement surgery at Texoma Medical Center, don’t go through it alone. Joint Replacement Camps at TMC can help you physically, mentally and emotionally prepare for your surgery. You’ll share experiences and build camaraderie with other campers — patients who are preparing for the same type of surgery as you.
Texoma Medical Center is committed to excellence in delivering orthopedic care, from total hip and knee replacements to spine surgeries including lumbar decompression. The continuum of care begins with patient education progressing through surgery and ultimately with recovery. As you plan your surgery, please also plan to attend a camp and you could complete your pre-operative lab work and pre-admission before or following camp. Bring a “coach” with you to the camp to learn how to help you during surgery and recovery.
Classes will discuss what to expect before, during and after surgery, including:
- Daily plan of events
- Pain management
- Patient-controlled analgesics
- Polar ice machines
- Pulse oximetry
- SCDs (Sequential Compression Device)
- Therapy
