Pre-Surgery Preparation
If you are having joint replacement surgery at Texoma Medical Center, don’t go through it alone. Joint Replacement Camp at TMC can help you physically, mentally and emotionally prepare for your surgery. You’ll share experiences and build camaraderie with other campers — patients who are preparing for the same type of surgery as you.
Texoma Medical Center is committed to excellence in delivering orthopedic care, from total hip and knee replacements to spine surgeries including lumbar decompression. The hospital has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Hip and Knee Joint Replacement.
The continuum of care begins with patient education progressing through surgery and ultimately with recovery. As you plan your surgery, it's important to schedule for joint camp. You can attend a joint camp either in-person or online any time before your surgery. If you plan to attend in-person, you may even choose to schedule your pre-operative testing and joint camp on the same day. Bring a “coach” with you to the camp to learn how to help you during surgery and recovery.
Classes will discuss what to expect before, during and after surgery, including:
- Daily plan of events
- Pain management
- Polar ice machines
- Pulse oximetry
- SCDs (Sequential Compression Device)
- Therapy
